Let It Snow!
If someone tells you that Adam Plachetka is a reserved man – don’t believe them! The world-renowned opera singer passionately dives into various challenging projects and charmingly navigates through diverse artistic disciplines – from operetta or musical melodies to shows completely outside the realm of classical music.
Now Adam has invited the band Melody Makers and the female vocal trio Prime Time Voice to join him in their unique interpretation of famous American Christmas evergreens! What will emerge from the combination of a top orchestra specializing in the interpretation of jazz, dance, and swing music from the first half of the 20th century and an internationally acclaimed bass-baritone, who will present a concert program composed almost exclusively of Christmas songs?
An enchanting show! Humorous perspective, great performers, beloved song pieces, and a relaxed atmosphere guarantee a fantastic experience! It will delight and inspire, not just during the pre-Christmas season!
Adam Plachetka has been a soloist at the Vienna State Opera since the 2010/2011 season and made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2015. Melody Makers is the orchestra of Ondřej Havelka, with whom Plachetka previously recorded an album of interwar songs by Jaroslav Ježek and Voskovec and Werich.
Concert at Gong
The concert will take place on Thursday, December 17, 2026, in the multifunctional hall Gong in Dolní Vítkovice. Tickets are sold through external presales.
Gong was created by converting a gas holder from 1922–1924, which stored 50,000 m³ of purified blast furnace gas until 1998. The reconstruction was designed by architect Josef Pleskot, and the multifunctional hall was opened in 2012. The large hall has 1509 seats and hosts conferences, exhibitions, and social events in addition to concerts. On the ground floor, you will find the Dolní Vítkovice Information Centre and the Gong Gallery.
