Tarja Turunen
Tarja Turunen became a founding member of the Finnish metal band Nightwish in 1996, singing with them until 2005. She then embarked on a solo career and gained fame as a performer of both metal and classical music. Her Advent concerts have a long-standing tradition in the Czech Republic and are very popular among listeners. She performed her Christmas program at Gong in December 2024, for example.
Multifunctional Hall Gong
Gong was created by converting a gas holder from 1922–1924, which stored 50,000 m³ of purified blast furnace gas until 1998. The reconstruction was designed by architect Josef Pleskot, and the hall was opened in 2012. The large hall has 1509 seats and, in addition to concerts, conferences, exhibitions, and social events are held at Gong. On the ground floor, you will find the Dolní Vítkovice Information Centre and the Gong Gallery. Tickets are sold by an external presale.
