Gifts for the exhibition "Zdař Bůh, kamarádi!"
We have a unique descent into the ČSM Mine in Stonava and coal from the last wagon as a souvenir for you! Join us in honoring the miners and take home a piece of history. The exhibition "Zdař Bůh, kamarádi!" at the Gong Gallery is a tribute to 250 years of mining in the OKD region. Come and remember the hard work and the history of the craft that has shaped our entire region. As a thank you for your visit, OKD, a.s. has prepared a special event from April 17 to May 1, 2026:
- Every 10th ticket purchased = an original piece of coal from the last wagon in a commemorative box (limit of 15 pieces, to be collected directly at the ticket office)
- Every 25th ticket purchased = exclusive descent into the underground of the ČSM Mine in Stonava (the experience will take place on May 15, 2026, in the morning; you will receive a voucher at the ticket office and will then be contacted with precise instructions)
How to participate
How to participate in the competition? Simply purchase a ticket directly at the ticket office of the Gong Gallery (payment can be made in cash or by card, this applies to discounted tickets as well). The event is valid until May 1 or until the rewards are exhausted.
You can find the Gong Gallery in the entrance hall of the multifunctional auditorium Gong, the former gas holder in Dolní Vítkovice. In addition to exhibitions, it offers entertaining activities that bring visitors closer to visual arts.
The last hard coal mine in the Czech Republic
The ČSM Mine in Stonava in the Karviná region was the last active hard coal mine in the Czech Republic. The first coal was extracted here in December 1968. Mining ended after the night shift from January 31 to February 1, 2026, and the symbolic last wagon surfaced on February 4, 2026. This marked the end of hard coal mining in the entire country.
