Club in the former gatehouse of Hlubina Mine
The club was founded by songwriter Jaromír Nohavica together with producer and dramaturg Pavel Giertel, who previously led the Ostrava club Parník for 18 years. Heligonka was established in 2015 in the former gatehouse of the so-called new baths of Hlubina Mine. It is a ground-floor building from the 1950s in Brussels style, where offices and time clocks used to be located, and which stood empty after mining ended in 1992. The interior was designed by architect Josef Pleskot.
