Hydrogen Cars Hit Schools. We Delivered the First Sets at the H2 Forum 2026.
At the H2 Forum in DK Poklad in Ostrava-Poruba, participating primary schools from the Moravian-Silesian Region received sets for building hydrogen model cars H2 GP Sprint. This officially launched the Hydrogen Cars in Schools project.
The World of Technology, along with the Moravian-Silesian Hydrogen Cluster, is the main partner of the project. Its aim is to introduce children to hydrogen technologies and modern energy in the best possible way, namely practically. Students will build the car model themselves, test it, and ultimately compete with it.
The sets were handed over to the schools by representatives of both main partners along with other project partners, including Tatra Trucks, Hyundai, and VŠB-TUO. The director of the World of Technology, Eliška Kulová, presented in a brief presentation "Hydrogen Playfully" at the Great World of Technology, showing how children and visitors discover hydrogen in a fun and understandable way. At our booth, visitors could try virtual reality.
What's in the Set
The H2 GP Sprint model is a 1:20 scale car powered by a fuel cell with an output of 1.5 W. The cell requires pure hydrogen: students can produce it using an electrolyzer included in the kit or use the Hydrostik hydrogen reservoir.
Schools now face a year full of work. They will go through the educational program "The Hydrogen Phenomenon" at the World of Technology, build and tune the cars, and in February 2027, they will also race with them here. We wish all participating teams the best of luck!
The Great World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice was opened in September 2014 according to the design of architect Josef Pleskot. In addition to interactive exhibitions, it offers schools modernly equipped classrooms, laboratories, and workshops.
