Beach volleyball and space in one weekend
May will be packed; from 27th to 31st May, the traditional world tournament in beach volleyball will take place in the area. But that's not all; you can combine the sports experience with a visit to SpaceBuzz! On 30th May, an 18-metre long mobile rocket will land here, featuring virtual reality. In the World of Technology and U6, we have prepared an accompanying programme – you will meet an astronaut, explore the sky with super telescopes, try out a gyroscope – a 3G overload simulator, test your balance, or repair a space station, take a look at astronauts' food, and there will also be large models of planets.
J&T Bank Ostrava Beach Pro
The tournament was first held in Ostrava in 2018 and quickly became a regular stop on the world series. Since 2022, it has been part of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour and is played in the highest category, Elite 16. It will feature 32 pairs, 16 women's and 16 men's. Between matches, you can stroll through the former industrial area, dominated by the Bolt Tower.
SpaceBuzz
SpaceBuzz is a rocket-shaped simulator mounted on a truck. In virtual reality, it takes you on a space mission and shows you Earth from the perspective of astronauts on the International Space Station. The rocket will tour Czech cities in 2026 and will stop in Dolní Vítkovice for one day.
