Landek Park Mining Museum
The Landek Park Mining Museum is located in Ostrava-Petřkovice at the foot of Landek Hill, in the area of the former Anselm Mine, whose dominant feature is a forty-metre headframe. The museum was opened on 4th December 1993, on the feast day of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. Underground, there are about 250 metres of tunnels at a depth of nine metres. The exhibitions showcase mine rescue, the history of mine transport, and heavy mining machinery, and there is also a reconstruction of a mammoth hunters' settlement on the premises. With an area of approximately 10 hectares, it is the largest museum complex in the Czech Republic.
