Landek Park Mining Museum
The programme takes place at the Landek Park Mining Museum in Ostrava-Petřkovice, located on the site of the Anselm Mine, the oldest shaft in Ostrava. The dominant feature of the area is the forty-metre high winding tower. The museum was opened on 4th December 1993, on St. Barbara's Day, the patron saint of miners, and is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic.
The underground section consists of about 250 metres of tunnels that summarise coal mining from 1782 to 1990 and showcase authentic mining workplaces and mining machinery. In the area, you will also find chain lockers, an exhibition of mining rescue services, and you can ride on an original mining train from the 1960s.
