Teachers' Day at the World of Technology: A Reward for You and Your Little Partner!
Dear teachers, we know that your work doesn't end with the last bell. It is a calling that requires a sea of energy. That’s why we have decided to give some back to you on Friday, 28 March!
Come and relax, and gather inspiration in the exhibitions of the Great World of Technology or U6. From 10:00 to 18:00, we have completely free entry for you. And because we know you prefer to spend your free time with family, we have a bonus for you: you can also bring one child under 15 for free!
How to do it? Just show proof at the entrance that you are a teacher (e.g., ITIC card, confirmation from school, or employee ID). Then all you have to do is enter and enjoy a day full of discoveries.
Why 28 March?
Teachers' Day is traditionally celebrated in the Czech Republic on 28 March, the anniversary of the birth of Jan Amos Komenský. It was declared by the Czechoslovak government in 1955 in recognition of the work of teachers.
Where You Can Go
The Great World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice was opened in September 2014 according to the design of architect Josef Pleskot. Covering an area of 14,000 m², it offers four interactive exhibitions: Children's World, World of Science and Discoveries, World of Civilization, and World of Nature. It takes four to five hours to walk through the entire exhibition.
The Small World of Technology U6 is located in the former VI. Energy Central, whose giant blowers produced compressed air for Blast Furnace No. 1. The interactive exhibits are inspired by the works of Jules Verne, and you can climb to the observation platform above the blowers, reaching a height of about 12 meters.
