The Living Library of Professions is Back
Dear parents, dear students,
on Monday, 21 September 2026, the Living Library of Professions will reopen at the Science and Technology Centre in Ostrava - an interactive fair where theory turns into practice. Instead of general information, you will meet people who study or already successfully work in these fields, and who will tell you straight how their job really looks.
This time you will meet the following professions:
- Robotics
- Programming
- 3D Printing
- Technologist
- Designer
- Tourism, Hospitality
- Laboratory Assistant, Practical Nurse
- Metallurgy
- Financial Services
- Journalism
- Automotive
Four schools will also present their offerings - VŠB-TUO, Secondary Art School, AGEL Secondary Medical School, and Vítkovice Secondary Industrial School. You can ask them directly about what interests you: about entrance exams, internships, and the employment of graduates.
When and Where
You can come for this and much more from 9:00 to 18:00. The morning block is ideal for school groups, while the afternoon and evening are for parents who want to stop by after work and take their children with them in peace and without rush.
The choice of secondary school is one of the first big decisions that children make in their lives. Invest one Monday to make the right choice.
The Living Library of Professions takes place in the Great World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice, at the address Vítkovice 3004. The previous edition took place on 26 January 2026. The science centre, designed by architect Josef Pleskot, opened in September 2014 and, in addition to interactive exhibits, also has classrooms, laboratories, and the Theatre of Science.
