ARCHITECTURE OF THE LOWER VITKOVICE AREA The guided tour will focus on the transformation of the decaying steel city into a modern educational, cultural, and social centre. Original and revitalised parts of the Lower Vítkovice complex and the history of 19th-century industrial architecture will be presented. Visitors will become acquainted with names that have influenced Ostrava's architecture not only in the past but also in the present. Representatives of the Lower Area will showcase what is new in Vítkovice and how the old is preserved. The visit includes a trip to the observation tower Bolt Tower. Participants will attempt to capture the unique environment of Lower Vítkovice, industrial monuments, greenery, and the panoramas of Ostrava. The plein air is an ideal opportunity for creative expression and meeting others. In case of bad weather, the plein air will take place in the Multifunctional auditorium Gong.
