The Gong Gallery is part of the educational complex offered by Dolní Vítkovice. Its aim is to introduce visitors to the artistic creations of personalities from both Czech and world art.

Educational Programme Geometry in Motion

Join us in exploring the world of optical illusions and tricks! The educational programme takes place in the inspiring environment of the gallery and provides a unique opportunity to combine fun with learning.

What will we experience?

• We will discover how contrasts, lines, and perspective work.
• We will explore the secrets of moving illusions and games with shapes.
• We will be inspired by the artistic movement of op-art and its connection to the world of design.

What benefits does the programme offer? Under the guidance of experienced instructors, we will develop together:

• Logical thinking through the analysis and creation of optical effects. Collaboration during group activities and discussions.
• Independence in finding our own creative solutions.
• Creativity.
• Students will understand that they do not need to be artists to perceive art as a part of everyday life – they just need to open themselves to it!

Guided Tour Architecture of DOV

A guided tour about the transformation of the decaying steel city into a modern educational, cultural, and social centre. During the tour, we will look at both the original and revitalised parts of the Dolní Vítkovice complex. We will dive into the history of industrial architecture of the 19th century and introduce you to the names that have influenced Ostrava's architecture not only in the past but also in the present. You will learn what brownfields are, why exposed brick is a suitable material for building industrial objects, and how to turn a warehouse into an Agricultural Museum.

Duration of the tour: 100 minutes

Admission: 120 CZK/student, free for accompanying teachers
