G2 Michael Jackson Symphony
The immortal hits of Michael Jackson in breathtaking symphonic performance. The energy of pop merges with the grandeur of the orchestra in a unique concert show. A tribute to the King of Pop that will captivate you from the first to the last note.
The program features symphonic arrangements of the most famous songs from tracks like Billie Jean and Beat It to ballads such as Earth Song and Heal the World. The musical arrangements were prepared by conductor Martin Kumžák. The concert is part of the G/Cycle Gong series of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava.
The songs will be performed by four vocal personalities accompanied by the philharmonic and the Moondance dance orchestra. This project thus combines the energy of pop music with the richness of symphonic sound, offering familiar melodies in a new orchestral guise.

When and Where
The concert will start on Wednesday, 27 January 2027 at 18:00 and will last approximately 90 minutes. It will take place in the multifunctional hall Gong in Dolní Vítkovice. Gong was created by converting a gas holder from 1922–1924, which stored 50,000 m³ of purified blast furnace gas until 1998. The reconstruction was designed by architect Josef Pleskot and the hall was opened in 2012. The large hall on the 3rd and 4th floors accommodates 1509 spectators, and on the ground floor, you will find the Gallery Gong. The construction of the building consists of 554,000 rivets. Tickets are sold by the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava.
