The Open Day of VÍTKOVICE and CYLINDERS HOLDING took place on 1 May 2026. Visitors got a glimpse into the operations of VÍTKOVICE HAMMERING and the production of pressure vessels, toured the Vítkovice Castle, and enjoyed a programme featuring hydrogen cars, virtual reality, and games for children.

The programme will also include presentations of development projects that showcase the future direction of Ostrava and its transformation into a modern and attractive city.

1st Station: VÍTKOVICE HAMMERING

A force that is not seen every day

After a long 10 years, the operation that takes your breath away is reopening to the public. You will step into a world where titanium and nickel are transformed into massive forgings, where every press stroke resonates throughout the space, and where materials for the most demanding industrial applications are born.

Prepare for an impressive spectacle – molten metal, the energy of machines, and precise work that you usually won't see. This is not an exhibition. This is live industry in action.

2nd Station: VÍTKOVICE CASTLE

A history that has its charm

Take a moment to pause in contrast to industrial strength – in an environment of elegance and tranquility.

Guided tours of the castle await you, taking you through the history of this unique place. And after the tour? Treat yourself to excellent coffee in the castle garden and soak in the atmosphere that will slow you down.
