The exhibition Polish Abstraction and the World showcases the beginnings of Polish abstract art, which emerged in collaboration with foreign artists from the group Abstraction Création, initially with Jean Arp and Michel Seuphor, and later with others. The exhibition features not only works by Polish authors but also pieces by artists who had a direct influence on Polish creation: Hans Arp, Sonia Delaunay, Pablo Picasso, Jean Gorin, and others. From the traditional period, works by Władysław Strzemiński, Henryk Stazewski, Kajetan Sosnowski are on display; the first two mentioned were part of the Abstraction Création group. From contemporary Polish art, we present Marcin Jasik, who had a solo exhibition at the Gong Gallery two years ago, and the exhibition is dedicated to Polish female artists Anne Osiecka, Malgorzata Borek, Aleksandra Kowalczik, and other young female artists. On the border of tradition is the work of Andrzej Nowacki, who operates not only in Poland but also in Germany and once had a studio in Ostrava, specifically in the Hlubina mine area, where Rafal Labijak also worked, and whose work is also featured in the exhibition.
  • The Gong Gallery is open from Tuesday to Sunday (10:00-18:00).
