The exhibition Summer Salon – Something for Everyone at Gong Gallery. A vibrant cross-section of the art scene across generations, techniques, and continents – as its name suggests, there is truly something for everyone.
The exhibition will feature works by classics of Czech modern art, such as Antonín Slavíček and Jan Trampota, contemporary prominent figures including Krištof Kintera, Ivana Štenclová, and the Švankmajer family. However, the exhibition transcends the borders of the Czech Republic: from the American pop-art scene, we will showcase the famous Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol, venture into China with the ironic self-portraits of Yue Minjun, and also present the optically precise works of Polish artist Tamara Berdowska. Among the exhibited names are also icons of world art – Salvador Dalí, the master of surrealism, and Oskar Kokoschka, a representative of expressionism with deep Central European roots.
The Summer Salon is a celebration of the diversity of artistic approaches – paintings, objects, installations, and concepts. From landscapes to technology, from humor to deep dives into the human psyche – the exhibition is a place for inspiration, entertainment, and reflection. The curators of the exhibition are Jan Světlík and Zdeněk Sklenář.
Opening: 31 July 2025 at 18:00.
