The toughest firefighters will once again tackle the Ostrava Bolt Tower this year. On Saturday 22nd June 2024, an unforgettable TFA race will take place here. TFA (Toughest Firefighter Alive) is rightly considered the toughest race of its kind in Europe. A hundred firefighters, both professional and volunteer, will compete under the famous Blast Furnace in the Lower Vítkovice area. The ceremonial opening of this year's 11th edition will take place at 9:00 AM, with the participation of representatives from the Moravian-Silesian Region, the city of Ostrava, and the HZS MSK. The race itself is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM. Competitors will start in full firefighting gear, including heavy breathing apparatus and helmets. There will be three age categories for male firefighters and one category for female firefighters, who will run the same course as the men. The goal of the race, as every year, will be the summit of the blast furnace, namely the Bolt Tower. You can also look forward to a rich accompanying programme for both children and adults. Not only firefighters will present, but also the City Police of Ostrava, including demonstrations of horse riding and dog handling, the Czech Police and its Order Police service, Traffic Police, and Rescue SAR Moravia. A children's version of TFA will be prepared for kids, ending with a large slide. FREE ENTRY
