And ATTENTION! The beloved "Uriáši" will not miss their fans in the Czech Republic on their journey! They will come to play live for all of you one last time this year, at the end of October, on Thursday, 29 October in OSTRAVA.
These concerts will write the history of world rock! These famous maestros undoubtedly belong in the rock and roll hall of fame, and there is no one who does not know their popular hits. Anyone who has attended one of their concerts will testify that they remember it with sincere joy in their hearts. They are always not only pleasant but also admirably perfect and naturally energetic, unforgettable shows. URIAH HEEP are a legend of their genre, and Mick Box revealed about their long career: "I think what drives us forward is one word – it’s called passion. And if you have a passion for what you do, you will ultimately achieve it."
URIAH HEEP debuted in 1970 with the release of one of the milestones of world hard rock, "Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble," and since then they have sold over 40 million albums worldwide. They tirelessly tour the world and perform up to 125 concerts a year for more than 500,000 fans. The band’s live performances feature classic songs interestingly mapping their incredible journey from the band’s beginnings to the present day.
URIAH HEEP, along with LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH, and DEEP PURPLE, helped shape the face of unique British heavy metal and rock. It is from these roots, with classic, key albums such as "Gypsy," "Bird of Prey," and "Walking in Your Shadow," that the Uriáši began their steep rise in the world of rock and metal, which continued with further releases like "Demons and Wizards," "The Magician’s Birthday," and "Sweet Freedom."
URIAH HEEP are also responsible for the most majestic and intelligent use of vocals in a heavy metal context among the major bands that invented this genre in the 1970s. For this reason, the "Heep" were called the Beach Boys of heavy metal, and their influence is evident in other bands, including Sweet and Queen.
The most inspirational chapter of the URIAH HEEP saga is the era that began in 1986 with the entry of keyboardist Phil Lanzon and in 1987 with singer Bernie Shaw joining the band, and both Phil and Bernie are still in the band today.
While in the 1990s URIAH HEEP worked at a relaxed pace, in 2000 they released four albums of entirely new music – "Wake the Sleeper," "Into the Wild," "Outsider," and finally "Living the Dream," with the latter being considered a masterpiece by passionate fans of the band. The 25th studio album by URIAH HEEP, titled "Chaos & Colour," was released in January 2023.
The current lineup of URIAH HEEP includes Mick Box, singer Bernie Shaw, bassist Dave Rimmer, drummer Russell Gilbrook, and keyboardist Phil Lanzon.
