Japanese bookbinding workshop with Mária Kekeláková.
The workshop will focus on familiarising participants with one of the bookbinding techniques, specifically Japanese binding. This type of binding is derived from traditional Chinese bookbinding. The basic Japanese binding features 4 holes, through which threads are woven in various ways to create the binding. During the workshop, you will learn how to create a photo album that you can use for your memories. We will experiment and learn together the interesting techniques that Japanese binding offers.
Mária Kekeláková is a student at the Faculty of Art at the University of Ostrava and, in addition to bookbinding, she is involved in graphic design and has already led several workshops for children at the Gong Gallery, with this being her first for adult participants.
