Mining Museum Landek Park

The Mining Museum is located in Ostrava-Petřkovice at the foot of Landek Hill, in the area of the Anselm Mine with its forty-meter high winding tower. It opened on 4th December 1993, on the feast day of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. The underground features about 250 meters of tunnels that recall coal mining in the Ostrava region from 1782 to 1990, and there is also an exhibition on mining rescue. The link above leads to the summer experiential program "Fárání se štajgrem", where you can participate in building mining works and extraction underground. Covering an area of 10 hectares, Landek Park is the largest museum complex in the Czech Republic.
