Dolní Vítkovice will join in commemorating the victims of the shooting at the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava. On Friday, 10 December 2021, the Bolt Tower will not be illuminated fully, but only safety lights will remain on. The Miloš Sýkora Bridge and the New Town Hall Tower will also be dimmed. Ostrava will honour the memory of the victims of the shooting at the faculty hospital that occurred two years ago. The commemoration is a symbolic support for the affected survivors. After the tragedy, the city provided financial aid to the bereaved and injured, and together with the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region, contributed to the establishment of a memorial site with a monument in front of the faculty hospital. The seven victims of the shooting are remembered by the work of sculptor Lukáš Dvorský, and the memorial to the victims of the shooting was unveiled in front of the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava a year after the tragedy.
