Few households are equipped with workshop tools, and children thus have little opportunity to get acquainted with DIY in the workshop. Yet, this is the first step towards acquiring the necessary skills, patience, imagination, and creativity that need to be developed in children from a young age. Therefore, our team of experienced instructors from the World of Technology has been visiting selected kindergartens in the Moravian-Silesian Region since the beginning of the year, teaching small preschoolers how to work with tools during a series of five interactive lessons. Using basic workshop tools such as a vice, cordless drill, hammer, or sandpaper, children create and take home one finished product from each lesson. For educators, the lessons provide an interesting inspiration for manual and creative work with children, as they gain experience in conducting such classes. The uniqueness of the lessons lies in guiding children towards independence in working with real workshop tools, thus developing their creativity and imagination. The aim of each lesson is to familiarize children with specific tools and their uses. The development of craft skills and creativity in preschool children is implemented as part of the project titled "Creative Little Craftsman" (registration number 0313000081), which is funded by the Ministry of Culture.
