In the World of Technology, systematic work with gifted and talented children continues in 2025. Thanks to the support of the Statutory City of Ostrava, children from across the region can engage in inspiring activities that develop their skills, creativity, and technical thinking. We thank the Statutory City of Ostrava for supporting the FUTUROVA 2025 project, which this year also enables systematic work with talented children, pupils, and students from the Ostrava region. The project is implemented through the AKTANA Club, which offers workshops led in an experiential and inquiry-based manner with an emphasis on creative learning. These activities are primarily aimed at children interested in robotics, programming, 3D printing, manual, craft, and artistic activities, where they can develop and deepen their skills. Special attention is given to robotics, which offers children a wide range of possibilities. They learn the principles of how technologies work, the basics of programming, how to work with various types of 3D printers, humanoid robots, robotic kits, and collaborative robotic arms. They also get acquainted with concepts such as virtual and augmented reality and, of course, the currently very relevant artificial intelligence. Within the workshops, children tackle technical challenges, develop critical thinking, logic, and the ability to creatively solve problems.
We do not forget about preschool children, who work in the club together with their parents and a professional educator. Using special tools, they develop their skills and natural curiosity. The AKTANA Club operates during the school year and transforms into day camps during the holidays, which are intended for children attending the workshops. Thanks to a full-day program for five days a week, children gain a more intensive experience and can engage in project-oriented tasks.
The project also includes special project activities for organized groups of talented pupils – for example, project days, craft days, expert discussions, and more. All these activities are connected by the principle of creative learning and support for an innovative approach to problem-solving. There are also specialized programs for talented pupils from primary and secondary schools that reflect the educational concept of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). The aim is to connect these fields and develop an understanding of the relationships between them.
The main goal of the project in 2025 remains the development and enhancement of education beyond the school curriculum – both for individuals and for entire classes or interest groups of talented pupils under the guidance of educators.
New Concept of the AKTANA Club from September 2025
Collaboration with the Statutory City of Ostrava in the area of working with gifted and talented children in the World of Technology is of a long-term nature. Therefore, from September 2025, we will offer children a new concept of the AKTANA Club. Our team of instructors, in collaboration with other experts, is intensively working on the new format, which we plan to present to visitors from the beginning of the new school year, starting in September 2025.
