Journey to the Academy - Clubs for Curious Children

The Journey to the Academy offers clubs for children aged 3 to 15 at the Great World of Technology: World for the Little Ones, World of Robots, World of Creativity, and World of 3D Printing. Thanks to the FUTUROVA 2026 project, they are free of charge, and the capacity for the school year 2026/27 is already full.

WORLD FOR THE LITTLE ONES

The World for the Little Ones connects children and parents – together you will enjoy creating, playing, and exploring the world. Each meeting revolves around a simple theme that stimulates children's curiosity, creativity, and sensory perception. You can expect artistic activities, thematic aids, and space for free play. The instructor is present throughout and respectfully accompanies both children and parents.

  • WHEN: Meetings will take place every Tuesday from 16:00 to 17:00. We start on 22nd September 2026 and the last session will be on 25th May 2027

WORLD OF ROBOTS

Join us on a journey into the world of robots and become their friend and mentor. In the World of Robots, you will learn the "secret languages" of robots, which will help you navigate, teach, and discover many new possibilities with them. You will meet little robots called Ozobots, or you can create your own robotic creation using Lego. You will also try virtual reality, where you will master the basics of block programming.

  • WHEN: Meetings will take place every Thursday from 16:30 to 17:50. We start on 24th September 2026 and the last session will be on 27th May 2027

WORLD OF CREATIVITY

Creative techniques from woodworking, through beading to the basics of animation. The World of Creativity is a place for every young creative enthusiast who is not afraid of challenges and diverse projects. You will try various artistic techniques, from woodworking to digital painting and even making your own lamp. In a group full of creators, it will go smoothly.

WORLD OF 3D PRINTING

Discover the magic of 3D printing from the first idea to the finished model. You will go through the entire process of 3D printing – from creating your own 3D model, modifying it, and preparing it for printing, to setting up the printer and printing your creation. You will not only receive basic theoretical information but also a lot of practical work, where you will try everything hands-on. You will learn how to use modeling software, how to prepare a print file, and how to handle a 3D printer safely. You will take home not only new skills but also your own printed projects.

Thanks to the FUTUROVA 2026 project, attending the Journey to the Academy is completely FREE.

The aim of the project is systematic year-round work with talented children, pupils, and students, emphasizing independent and individual development of children, collaboration with educators and talent coordinators from Ostrava schools. The project's activities build on previous periods, are updated and innovated to allow students to develop their talents beyond the school curriculum. Another goal of the project is to implement experiential and research activities enriching children's extracurricular education using modern technologies and to build a unique, high-quality publicly accessible modern educational institution while modernizing teaching spaces to meet modern trends and allow meaningful leisure time and individual development of the talented.

Conditions for Participation in the Journey to the Academy:

  • Membership is possible based on an application via the online form (a link is provided for each activity) and participation in at least one activity per month.
  • Activities are intended for specific age groups of children – we ask for their respect. Children outside the designated age category will not be accepted into the lesson.
  • Each activity has a maximum capacity set so that the instructor can ensure an individual approach.
  • During school holidays and public holidays, activities do not take place.
  • For children from the Worlds, we offer special day camps that follow their activities. Children participate for free, parents only pay for meals.
