We are embarking on a journey of collaboration with local craftsmen, artists, and designers. Papidu - an Ostrava-based paper studio led by Gábina Pilařová specializes in upcycling unnecessary paper, reusing paper resources, and custom production with an emphasis on authentic and handmade processing of the final products. For DOV, Gábina created a special collection of original notebooks and diaries. The covers of the notebooks mysteriously feature hinted golden outlines of industrial architecture. Inspired by cross beams, rust, vibrant yellow, intricate piping, layering, and transformation over time. Old period photographs on translucent paper intertwine with blank pages waiting for new ideas. Flaked rust, coal black, warning yellow, and a drop of turquoise retro blue. Three motifs, each processed a bit differently, none the same as the other.
