One Day with a Disability
New Addition to the Educational Programmes of the World of Technology
The new educational programme opens up a path for students to a deeper understanding of the lives of people with disabilities, in an experiential, sensitive, and authentic way. The programme develops empathy, respect, and social skills – and above all, helps to better understand the world around us.
In the exhibition "Living Normally", students will personally experience situations that people with disabilities face, such as living without sight or hearing, moving in a wheelchair, or experiencing mental illness. The programme also includes a discussion with a person with a disability, which brings an authentic story, space for questions, and a safe way to break down stereotypes.
The programme is intended for students in grades 5-9 of primary schools and high school students.
Additional Practical Information:
- Duration of the programme: 180 minutes
- Capacity of the programme: 10–25 students (please adhere to the maximum)

Great World of Technology
The programme takes place in the Great World of Technology in Lower Vítkovice, a popular science centre designed by architect Josef Pleskot, which opened in September 2014. In addition to four permanent interactive exhibitions, it has modern classrooms, laboratories, and workshops where educational programmes for schools are held.
