A new temporary exhibition ORBIS PICTUS PLAY has opened in the Great World of Technology. It is an interactive exhibition inspired by the work of Jan Amos Komenský and particularly his book Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart, the 400th anniversary of which we are commemorating this year. The interactive exhibition, artistically conceived by Petr Nikl in collaboration with other artists from the Czech Republic and abroad, develops the message of Komenský and all those who believe in the power of creative desire for knowledge. It presents a journey where visitors themselves activate individual exhibits and thus become co-creators of the exhibition space, its movement, sound, light, and shadows. Komenský was one of the first to understand that the most natural way of learning is through play. It can also serve as a means of communication and inspire the development of creativity and the desire for knowledge. ORBIS PICTUS PLAY by authors Jiří and Radana Wald is an international project of travelling exhibitions and accompanying events, artistically conceived by artist and performer Petr Nikl with the participation of Czech and foreign artists. You can find everything you need here. The exhibition has been prepared for you by the Language Gymnasium Pavla Tigrida in Ostrava. The international project ORBIS PICTUS PLAY has so far been visited by more than 3 million visitors. Join them and try to discover the power of imagination and creativity within yourself. The exhibition is suitable for visitors of all ages, for school groups, parents with children, and all of you who have not yet lost the desire to play and create.
