Race the Streets in Dolní Vítkovice: Traffic Restrictions and Operations of DOV Attractions

During the Race the Streets event on 7th and 8th August 2026, there were traffic restrictions and a closure of Ruská Street in Dolní Vítkovice. Attractions remained open, with the High Furnace Tour replacing the High Furnace Circuit alongside Bolt Tower. This update describes arrival, parking, and public transport.

Dear visitors, a sporting event Race the Streets (7th-8th August) will take place in the Dolní Vítkovice area, which will require temporary traffic and operational restrictions in some parts of the area. The DOV attractions remain open unchanged, only at Bolt Tower and guided tours have undergone minor changes for visitor comfort (more below). Pedestrian movement and vehicle passage may be restricted or temporarily completely closed in some sections. We ask all visitors to exercise increased caution during the event, respect the organizers' instructions, and the temporary traffic signage.

CLOSURE OF RUSKÁ STREET

Two-way closure from Thursday 6th August (16:00) to Sunday 9th August (16:00)
Closure for pedestrians from Thursday 6th August (16:00) to Sunday 9th August (10:00)

HOW TO GET TO THE DOLNÍ VÍTKOVICE AREA?

You can reach the area by car via Vítkovická Street (which remains accessible without restrictions). Parking is available in designated parking areas (see the map below).
Public transport is only available from the Dolní Vítkovice stop (the Dolní Vítkovice-Hlubina stop is out of service). You will walk through the underpass towards the DOV area, then ascend the blue stairs on the left side to the pavement of Místecká Street. After approximately 200 m, you will descend at Bolt Tower into the DOV area (see the red paths on the map). The route is not barrier-free.

BOLT TOWER AND GUIDED TOURS

On 7th-8th August, due to excessive noise and restrictions at the high furnace, the standard High Furnace Circuit will be withdrawn from sale --> it will be replaced by a modified tour High Furnace with Bolt Tower (with a guide). The tour starts under Bolt Tower.

If you do not wish to take the guided tour but are interested in watching the drifting races and the surroundings from a bird's eye view, you can purchase only the ascent to Bolt Tower at the mobile ticket office under Bolt Tower (payment by card only). Ascents take place continuously from 10:00, with the last ascent at 21:00.

Online sales also remain available at standard times for: a separate ascent to Bolt Café with refreshments and a Climb to the high furnace.
