The next edition of the Sculpture Line festival once again presents sculptures and artistic objects by leading domestic and international creators "in the open air". The aim of the exhibition is to enrich and enhance public space, offering a new perspective on Ostrava and the artworks themselves. In front of the Great World of Technology, there is a steel piece created by Portuguese artist Nuno Santiago.

About the Author
Nuno Santiago was born in 1956 in Lisbon, Portugal. While living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he studied at the Federal University of Fine Arts and later studied at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts in Portugal. He enjoyed etching and engraving, with most of his works stemming from these early experiments.
"A few years later, I moved to Macau, where I worked for a while as a set designer for a ballet and theatre company. I also taught black-and-white photography. It was in Macau that Chinese aesthetics permeated my work, and some of these influences are still present. I could define my work as geometric abstractionism if asked to name it. My shapes are always angular and defined. My sculptural work is very closely related to my painting, and it has been said that my sculptures are essentially paintings in three dimensions, which I agree with. My work is always untitled, which I consider a necessity with abstractionism. Essentially, I am always seeking balance in unbalanced forms."
