Information Center temporarily at Bolt Tower

11 September – 25 October 2026 the DOV Information Center and the start of tours have been moved from Gong to the white cube (control room of Blast Furnace No. 1) next to Bolt Tower.

Where to find us
During normal operations, the DOV Information Center is located in the entrance hall of the multifunctional auditorium Gong, which is the former gas holder. During the move, you will meet the guides at Blast Furnace No. 1, one of the landmarks of the area. Look for the white cube next to Bolt Tower, the extension at the top of the furnace, which you can recognize by the glass cylinder suspended from the original structure. The extension was completed in 2015 according to the design of architect Josef Pleskot.
The control room of Blast Furnace No. 1 is the place from where the operation of the furnace was once managed. Iron production in Dolní Vítkovice ended with the last tapping on 27 September 1998, and the control room with the original equipment is now part of the tour route High Furnace Circuit.
This change applies to the start of all guided tours, which otherwise begin at Gong. Therefore, we recommend arriving well in advance and accounting for the journey across the area.
The DOV Information Center and the start of guided tours have been temporarily moved from Gong to the white cube (control room of Blast Furnace No. 1) next to Bolt Tower from 11 September to 25 October 2026.
