Gong, a structure that emerged from the vision of transforming Dolní Vítkovice as conceived by Jan Světlík and architect Josef Pleskot, is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The original blast furnace gas holder, commissioned in 1924, served until 1998. Now it is a multifunctional hall for hundreds of people, with a gallery and the new Infocentrum Dolních Vítkovic located on the ground floor. However, few people know that as recently as 1970, an aerial bomb was found at the bottom of the (wet) gas holder! Can you imagine that in today's world...? Want to know more?
