Dear art lovers, the coronavirus pandemic has been affecting the entire world for several months, including the cultural environment. Let us expect the unexpected and let us promptly open the exhibition Ivana Štenclová OKO BERE on Wednesday 16th December at 5 PM at the Milan Dobeš Museum. In light of the hygiene measures related to the SARS CoV-2 virus pandemic, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance by 16th December at 1 PM at the following address: museum@milandobes.com.   The artist Ivana Štenclová is a regional artist who creates portraits, utilizing a rich spectrum of artistic means in her work. The figurative composition, portrait, and self-portrait serve as the main formal expressions, with the graphic principle being the core of her artistic expression. Although she employs unusual artistic techniques, drawing is the foundation of her paintings – she expresses herself in lines rather than in colour fields. Thus, she creates works that lie on the border between painting, relief, and object. In addition to canvas, she uses particle board, used bed sheets, X-ray images, and recently also metal sheets as her substrates. Technical and decorative effects in Ivana Štenclová's approach are never self-serving – they always serve the meaning of the artwork. This meaning is often multilayered. She systematically engages in decoding repressed traumas and exposing primarily family relationships.
