The educational programme introduces students to the personality and work of Helena Salichová in close relation to Silesia, which inspired her throughout her life. They will learn about her life story, artistic career, and characteristic artistic style. Emphasis is placed on how the Silesian landscape, folk culture, traditions, and everyday life were reflected in her graphic works. The programme naturally connects visual education with regional history and develops interdisciplinary relationships.

Let yourself be drawn into a world where it sparkles! Students will experience the magic of electricity firsthand, from rubbing amber to building a functional circuit with wires, bulbs, switches, and batteries.

They will discover what the terms voltage, current, and resistance mean, test the conductivity of unconventional materials, and learn how a resistor, LED, or photodiode works.

During an interactive tour of exhibits on hydro, thermal, nuclear, and photovoltaic power plants, they will understand the journey of energy from production to the household.

And as the cherry on top, they will witness an impressive demonstration of static electricity with a Van de Graaff generator. Energy that lights up not only bulbs but also their curiosity.

Students will program a racing car using the Micro:bit microcontroller in teams, setting its driving strategy using sensors, algorithmic control, and simple decision-making processes. They will experience how AI "learns", tests, and fine-tunes.

At the end, they will participate in a big race, comparing their solutions and taking away not only an experience but also knowledge of programming in a real context.

The program introduces students to the basic principles and elements of a natural garden in relation to events in the wild and encourages them to better perceive connections. Through the game "photographic eyes," they will practice attentive observation of details. During their own research activities on the STC rooftop garden, students discover how even urban spaces can be friendly to nature, mapping habitats, identifying plants, examining shelters for animals, comparing the garden environment with surrounding areas, and discussing the results. They will also be introduced to topics that are often overlooked, such as: why it is important to feed correctly, how to maintain birdhouses and feeders, and we will also discuss public space. The program demonstrates that even small changes in the environment or behavior can have a significant impact.

Discover the magic of the printing craft!

Come and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of printing as it was known by masters before the invention of digital printers. On our project day, students will learn about historical techniques of intaglio printing, which have been key to art and education from the Middle Ages to the present day, and will learn to distinguish between different printing techniques – relief, intaglio, and planographic. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, they will master safety principles and the necessary tools. They will create their own metal plate, engrave a design, and under the supervision of an expert, etch it using a special acid. Finally, they will test their unique print on passing presses and add a graphic description.

Students will not only gain practical experience with traditional printing techniques but will also learn how chemistry and the history of art go hand in hand. Imagine what it was like when artists had to reproduce their work without modern technologies.

Come and discover photography in a different way and experience the magic of classic photography with a pinhole camera!

Our educational program will take you back to the basics of photography. You will learn to work with a pinhole camera, experiment with exposure times, and observe how images appear upside down.

You will experience surprising moments not only while creating photographs but also during their development in the darkroom right before your eyes. In the darkroom at the Science Theatre, you will try developing photographs, taking portraits, and creating collages. At the end, you can print a photo from your phone directly onto photographic paper.

What is a language? Where did it come from? How are they interconnected?

The program "How many languages do you speak?" is an interactive activity that introduces children to the diversity of languages and their significance in a playful manner. Participants will learn about the origin, development, and interconnectedness of languages, their phonetics, language families, and scripts.

The program broadens children's horizons beyond school education and inspires them to take an interest in linguistics and learning new languages, while emphasizing the importance of linguistic diversity.

In addition to languages, the program will also focus on scripts, which are inseparably linked to languages.

An educational program focused on developing manual skills and creative work. Children will have the opportunity to get acquainted with a wide range of activities that will allow them to create their own products from the initial instructions to the final product.

During the course, students will try working with a lathe, drill, hammer, and other tools that they do not commonly use at home or school. They will learn to identify and recognize basic components and master working with them.

The program focuses on teaching basic weaving and knotting techniques using paracord on a special wooden loom. Students will engage in creating a bracelet that can be not only a fashion accessory but also a useful survival tool, thanks to its versatility.

The program supports the development of manual skills and creativity among participants and provides practical skills for emergencies. Assistance from a teacher is needed when teaching paracord bracelets, especially with younger children.

Discover the fascinating world of 3D printing! In our workshop, you will learn everything from the history and principles of this revolutionary technology to practical skills in 3D modeling.

We will teach you how to design your own models and transform them into tangible reality using modern 3D printers. The workshop is designed so that each participant can try their hand at 3D modeling and printing, step by step, with expert guidance and practical demonstrations.

The workshop takes place in two parts: first, there will be 120 minutes in a classroom with a projector or interactive whiteboard, where you will focus on theory and modeling, and then you will move to the Robolab exhibition, where you can experience 3D printing live.

There are countless techniques through which we can express our thoughts and feelings on paper. But let's not be flat! This time, let's test the boundaries of space with (un)ordinary paper.

We will try Japanese Origami, test our geometry knowledge with pop-up cards, and fold a 3D model of our dream house. All we need is to know the right technique.

Students will practice fine motor skills and learn to apply geometry in practical tasks. They will take home not only experiences and new skills but also a bunch of paper creations.

The class will also receive paper templates of techniques that they can continue with in art class at school or at home in their free time.

The construction kits allow the assembly of two types of functional "vehicles" (a hand truck and a wood cart) in life size. During this lesson, students will create these vehicles in teams of 3–4 members. While working, they will learn to collaborate, communicate, read and understand technical documentation, and work according to instructions.

At the end of the lesson, they will test the functionality of their models themselves. After successfully testing their vehicles, they will disassemble them and carefully tidy up the individual parts in the correct places in the storage box.

Books have fascinated our society since ancient times. Let’s journey back to the Middle Ages to their roots - the codices.

In the atmosphere of an old scriptorium, we will try our hand at calligraphy, reading medieval scripts, and understanding stylized book illuminations.

There will also be a chilling legend about the largest manuscript in the world – the Devil's Bible!

In the second part of the project day, we will explore the significance of the book as an object in today's world with the students.

We will focus on different types of bindings, glance into bookbinding terminology, and with a bit of skill, everyone will create their own little book as a keepsake.

Throughout the program, the teacher, as well as the group leader, will always be actively involved.

The aim of the program is to create an unforgettable short film. With Stop motion technique and its processing in the IMovie application, you will learn to process your animation, edit it, and create perfect characters and scenery.

Our educational program Believe it or not focuses on developing this skill and addresses the topic of media literacy. Through interactive methods, we teach students what fake news is and how to recognize it, how to avoid falling for disinformation, manipulation, and information chaos, and how to properly analyze photographs. The program also includes the ZooM exhibition, which focuses on visual literacy and aims to develop the ability to uncover the true story and message of photographs in the media.

An educational program for primary and secondary school students that opens the way to understanding the lives of people with disabilities at the Great World of Technology in Ostrava.

In the first part, children move through the interactive exhibition Living Normally, where they can experience firsthand what it is like to live without sight or hearing, to navigate in a wheelchair, or to face mental illness. The second part consists of an open discussion with a person with a disability, providing an authentic story, space for questions, and a safe way to break down stereotypes. The program develops empathy, respect, and social skills among students.

The focal point of this programme is the presentation of a large pendulum by architect Josef Pleskot in the Gong Gallery.

Pupils will get acquainted with various types of pendulums and their practical applications.

We engage in creative activities using simple pendulums.

Can you create a simple traffic light or a bell that reacts to changes in lighting in the room? Do you want to delve deeper into the secrets of electrical components that you encounter every day? This, and much more, is what you can expect from our programme Electrical Circuits with MICRO:BIT.

Pupils and students will try out how to control simple electrical circuits using a microcontroller and block programming. At the same time, they will practically understand how its individual components work, such as resistors, diodes, potentiometers, thermistors, and resistors.

Did you know that besides your phone, tablet, or computer, many other devices can connect to the internet? How do they do it? Who do they communicate with over the internet? And how about using your newly acquired knowledge to build your own weather station or measure the noise in your surroundings? This, and much more, is what you can expect from our Internet of Things with MICRO:BIT programme.

Pupils and students will practically delve into the secrets of a special set of sensors through a microcomputer and block programming, learning how to send collected data directly to our phone via the internet. While assembling their own measuring devices, they will understand how data collection works in the 21st century.

A magnetic field is created around a conductor through which electric current flows.

Thanks to this fact, people discovered a new way to set things in motion in the 19th century.

In this program, students will try constructing the first electric motors and batteries, look into the future of electromobility, and experience the work of a mechanic in virtual reality (VR glasses).

But what do the frequently repeated terms fake news, disinformation, and alternative facts actually encompass? Are they a phenomenon of recent years, or have they been cleverly hidden among us for centuries? How is it possible that they work? Who and why spreads them? And most importantly, how can we defend ourselves against them? The experiential educational program taking place in the Living Normally exhibition at the World of Technology aims to convey the challenges of everyday life faced by people with disabilities to students. Our own body has become a measure of length since ancient times.

Length is even one of the first physical quantities that humans began to use.

Thanks to the story of Emperor Metron II, students will become more familiar with derived units and measures of length as well as their practical applications.

The energy demands of humanity are constantly increasing, and therefore it is necessary to build power plants,

which are capable of producing a large volume of energy from a small amount of fuel.

Nuclear power plants meet these requirements.

In this educational program, students will actively learn not only about the principles of how a nuclear power plant works,

but also find out what radiation is, learn how to measure it, and discover how to protect themselves against it.

Pupils will solve chemical puzzles, conduct safe chemical reactions, and analyze chemical substances. They will find themselves in the role of young alchemists almost like at the court of Emperor Rudolf II, but to solve the task, they will use modern methods of analytical chemistry in a chemical laboratory.

Praseodymium, Vanadium, K–Potassium, Yttrium are representatives of a large group of elements that govern our world.

We will explain the principle of relief printing and how to visually distinguish it from engravings and etchings. We will reflect on the connection between classical graphics, known since the medieval times, and modern computer technologies.

During the program, students will dive into the world of water, try simple experiments, and find out what water can do. Together, they will discover how ice turns into water, water into steam, and how rain is born from steam. Melting, evaporation, condensation, and the formation of precipitation will become not just theory, but fun experiments. Students will experience firsthand the processes that make the water cycle in nature work and learn why water is crucial for the life of the entire planet.

Projecting a city for decades ahead requires careful consideration. Planning a city cannot be done by just one person; it requires many experts.

Children, in the roles of architects, will learn to communicate with each other and will also have the space to creatively express their ideas.
