The educational programme introduces students to the personality and work of Helena Salichová in close relation to Silesia, which inspired her throughout her life. They will learn about her life story, artistic career, and characteristic artistic style. Emphasis is placed on how the Silesian landscape, folk culture, traditions, and everyday life were reflected in her graphic works. The programme naturally connects visual education with regional history and develops interdisciplinary relationships.

Through the analysis of optical phenomena, we will practice logical thinking and reflect on how art enters our everyday lives. The program takes place in the form of interactive teaching at the Gong Gallery.

Step into a world where science meets art! In the Crystal Resin programme, students will discover the magic of UV resin, which transforms from a liquid to a solid transparent material similar to glass under UV light.

They will learn how polymerization works, why UV light triggers a chemical reaction, and they will practically try it out by making their own magnet or keychain.

Join us in a world where robotics, programming, and artificial intelligence meet on the racetrack. In a playful way, it introduces the principles of AI and demonstrates its practical applications. Students will program a racing car using the Micro:bit microcontroller in teams, setting its driving strategy using sensors, algorithmic control, and simple decision-making processes. They will experience how AI "learns", tests, and fine-tunes.

At the end, they will participate in a big race, comparing their solutions and taking away not only an experience but also knowledge of programming in a real context.

The program introduces students to the basic principles and elements of a natural garden in relation to events in the wild and encourages them to better perceive connections. Through the game "photographic eyes," they will practice attentive observation of details. During their own research activities on the STC rooftop garden, students discover how even urban spaces can be friendly to nature, mapping habitats, identifying plants, examining shelters for animals, comparing the garden environment with surrounding areas, and discussing the results. They will also be introduced to topics that are often overlooked, such as: why it is important to feed correctly, how to maintain birdhouses and feeders, and we will also discuss public space. The program demonstrates that even small changes in the environment or behavior can have a significant impact.

Discover the magic of the printing craft!

Come and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of printing as it was known by masters before the invention of digital printers. On our project day, students will learn about historical techniques of intaglio printing, which have been key to art and education from the Middle Ages to the present day, and will learn to distinguish between different printing techniques – relief, intaglio, and planographic. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, they will master safety principles and the necessary tools. They will create their own metal plate, engrave a design, and under the supervision of an expert, etch it using a special acid. Finally, they will test their unique print on passing presses and add a graphic description.

Students will not only gain practical experience with traditional printing techniques but will also learn how chemistry and the history of art go hand in hand. Imagine what it was like when artists had to reproduce their work without modern technologies.

Come and discover photography in a different way and experience the magic of classic photography with a pinhole camera!

Our educational program will take you back to the basics of photography. You will learn to work with a pinhole camera, experiment with exposure times, and observe how images appear upside down.

You will experience surprising moments not only while creating photographs but also during their development in the darkroom right before your eyes. In the darkroom at the Science Theatre, you will try developing photographs, taking portraits, and creating collages. At the end, you can print a photo from your phone directly onto photographic paper.

What is a language? Where did it come from? How are they interconnected?

The program "How many languages do you speak?" is an interactive activity that introduces children to the diversity of languages and their significance in a playful manner. Participants will learn about the origin, development, and interconnectedness of languages, their phonetics, language families, and scripts.

The program broadens children's horizons beyond school education and inspires them to take an interest in linguistics and learning new languages, while emphasizing the importance of linguistic diversity.

In addition to languages, the program will also focus on scripts, which are inseparably linked to languages.

An educational program focused on developing manual skills and creative work. Children will have the opportunity to get acquainted with a wide range of activities that will allow them to create their own products from the initial instructions to the final product.

During the course, students will try working with a lathe, drill, hammer, and other tools that they do not commonly use at home or school. They will learn to identify and recognize basic components and master working with them.

This program is a great opportunity to broaden children's horizons and support their creative potential. Join us and experience the joy of handmade projects with the children!

The program focuses on teaching basic weaving and knotting techniques using paracord on a special wooden loom. Students will engage in creating a bracelet that can be not only a fashion accessory but also a useful survival tool, thanks to its versatility.

The program supports the development of manual skills and creativity among participants and provides practical skills for emergencies. Assistance from a teacher is needed when teaching paracord bracelets, especially with younger children.

Discover the fascinating world of 3D printing! In our workshop, you will learn everything from the history and principles of this revolutionary technology to practical skills in 3D modeling.

We will teach you how to design your own models and transform them into tangible reality using modern 3D printers. The workshop is designed so that each participant can try their hand at 3D modeling and printing, step by step, with expert guidance and practical demonstrations.

The workshop takes place in two parts: first, there will be 120 minutes in a classroom with a projector or interactive whiteboard, where you will focus on theory and modeling, and then you will move to the Robolab exhibition, where you can experience 3D printing live.

The construction kits allow the assembly of two types of functional "vehicles" (a hand truck and a wood cart) in life size. During this lesson, students will create these vehicles in teams of 3–4 members. While working, they will learn to collaborate, communicate, read and understand technical documentation, and work according to instructions.

At the end of the lesson, they will test the functionality of their models themselves. After successfully testing their vehicles, they will disassemble them and carefully tidy up the individual parts in the correct places in the storage box.

This activity is not only educational but also fun and strengthens team spirit!

We all hear terms like climate change, carbon footprint, pollution, recycling. But what does sustainability mean in everyday life? And what can each of us do for it? In this programme, we will explore the connections between our daily activities and the state of our planet. Together, we will look for ways to behave more responsibly towards the environment and practice critical thinking.

As part of the FUTUROva programme, how to care for the environment.

Books have fascinated our society since ancient times. Let’s journey back to the Middle Ages to their roots - the codices.

In the atmosphere of an old scriptorium, we will try our hand at calligraphy, reading medieval scripts, and understanding stylized book illuminations.

There will also be a chilling legend about the largest manuscript in the world – the Devil's Bible!

In the second part of the project day, we will explore the significance of the book as an object in today's world with the students.

We will focus on different types of bindings, glance into bookbinding terminology, and with a bit of skill, everyone will create their own little book as a keepsake.

Throughout the program, the teacher, as well as the group leader, will always be actively involved.

The aim of the program is to create an unforgettable short film. With Stop motion technique and its processing in the IMovie application, you will learn to process your animation, edit it, and create perfect characters and scenery.

Visual media dominate the world, and understanding them is becoming one of the key skills necessary for developing critical thinking.

Our educational program Believe it or not focuses on developing this skill and addresses the topic of media literacy. Through interactive methods, we teach students what fake news is and how to recognize it, how to avoid falling for disinformation, manipulation, and information chaos, and how to properly analyze photographs. The program also includes the ZooM exhibition, which focuses on visual literacy and aims to develop the ability to uncover the true story and message of photographs in the media.

An educational program for primary and secondary school students that opens the way to understanding the lives of people with disabilities at the Great World of Technology in Ostrava.

In the first part, children move through the interactive exhibition Living Normally, where they can experience firsthand what it is like to live without sight or hearing, to navigate in a wheelchair, or to face mental illness. The second part consists of an open discussion with a person with a disability, providing an authentic story, space for questions, and a safe way to break down stereotypes. The program develops empathy, respect, and social skills among students.

The focal point of this programme is the presentation of a large pendulum by architect Josef Pleskot in the Gong Gallery.

Pupils will get acquainted with various types of pendulums and their practical applications.

We engage in creative activities using simple pendulums.

Thanks to this fact, people discovered a new way to set things in motion in the 19th century.

In this program, students will try constructing the first electric motors and batteries, look into the future of electromobility, and experience the work of a mechanic in virtual reality (VR glasses).

You will discover that basic programming is a piece of cake and a computer can be more than just games and social networks. Pupils and students will delve into the secrets of block programming through a microcomputer and find out that robots are actually all around us and it doesn't have to be complicated to communicate with them.

All newly acquired knowledge will be immediately applied to borrowed micro:bits V2 with a wide range of sensors, which they will learn to use to the fullest.

During the program, you will test your knowledge, try practical experiments, and discover how modern technologies can be used in everyday life. At the end, you will have a unique meeting with an innovative hydrogen vehicle.

Everyone knows that when they get injured, they bleed "red". But is that really the case for everyone? Do kings and queens have blue blood or the same as us? And what about a worm, what kind of blood does it have? Can we also prepare blood in the laboratory?

We will answer all these questions, and many more, during a research-oriented educational program.

Among other things, we will also try working with a microscope and literally feel red blood cells.

Do we see all the living things around us, or is there something alive that we cannot see?

Together we will embark on a journey into the world of microorganisms, get to know them, and discover how they live. We will explain basic laboratory techniques and learn how to work with a microscope.

Finally, we will attempt to bring one of the smallest organisms in the world to life!

The entire program takes place in the laboratory.

The guided tour "Mechanics of Liquids and Gases" will introduce you to the principles of hydrostatic pressure and its practical applications. You will also verify theoretical knowledge not only from school lessons on our fully interactive exhibits. Worksheets on the topic will also be available.

Anyone can paint. However, when we replace tempera and brush with wool and a felting needle, a new creative space full of possibilities opens up.

We will talk about the origin of animal fibers and their use in the textile industry. You will learn the technique of hand felting small products.

And with a little patience, you will take home a handmade picture that can be used as a patch on clothing or framed on a table.

The teacher, as well as the group companion, is always actively involved in the crafts.

The experiential educational program taking place in the Living Normally exhibition at the World of Technology aims to convey the challenges of everyday life faced by people with disabilities to students. The goal is to provide visitors with an unconventional and experiential opportunity to engage with the world of individuals with health impairments. This includes not only physical disabilities but also mental health issues. In the interactive exhibition, students, under the guidance of a trained instructor, will experience what it is like to live with a disability. They will learn how to navigate in a wheelchair, how to orient themselves using touch, and what technical aids facilitate the lives of people with various disabilities. Let your students develop manual skills in our workshops!

They will learn about the properties of wood, the necessary tools, and the basics of safety.

The reward will be a handmade gift in the form of a kitchen board that they can take home.

With a bit of skill, there will also be time to decorate the wood using the burning technique.

The teacher or group leader always actively participates in the craft activities.

The Roof Garden of the Great World of Technology is an interesting architectural achievement and complements the Nature exhibition of the Great World of Technology.

Participants in the program will be able to try various activities related to the garden in different parts of it and will be able to discover its advantages as well as potential pitfalls.

They will have the opportunity to work with their own smartphones or borrowed tablets directly in the garden and complete the prepared tasks.

of family life and learn how to manage and handle money and how to improve their financial budget.

Students will become familiar with the concepts of financial literacy.

Pupils will solve chemical puzzles, conduct safe chemical reactions, and analyze chemical substances. They will find themselves in the role of young alchemists almost like at the court of Emperor Rudolf II, but to solve the task, they will use modern methods of analytical chemistry in a chemical laboratory.

Praseodymium, Vanadium, K–Potassium, Yttrium are representatives of a large group of elements that govern our world.

Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev arranged them into a universal catalog of everything in the universe, now known as the Periodic Table of Elements.

Students will learn to navigate, recognize individual groups of elements including their representatives, and also to identify their symbols, properties, and uses through various activities and experiments.

Robots are now everywhere around us.

Often we are not even aware of how many things they make easier for us and what all they do.

The educational program will expand students' knowledge in the field of robotics – they will realize what a robot actually is and how it works.

They will learn where they can encounter robots.

In the practical part of the lesson, they will attempt to build their own robot from Lego and also try to program it.

They will intuitively learn the basics of algorithmization.

Linocut is a very impressive graphic technique that offers enormous possibilities for artistic expression.

It involves designing your own motif and carving it into linoleum. Subsequently, the students will print it on paper using a printing press.

We will explain the principle of relief printing and how to visually distinguish it from engravings and etchings. We will reflect on the connection between classical graphics, known since the medieval times, and modern computer technologies.

Give your students the opportunity to try their manual skills in our workshops and at the same time express their own aesthetic sensibility.

Working with wood is still very modern and attractive.

Knowing how to work with it – sanding, measuring, nailing – is a fundamental skill that children will learn in our program.

From the prepared semi-finished product, they will create a wooden bird feeder that they can take home to decorate their window or garden!
