During the summer of 2026, the toilets in the Great World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice are being gradually repaired. If you encounter a non-functional toilet, please use the WC on another floor. The ground floor of the building, which also houses the Children's World, is currently under reconstruction.

The Health Worker or First Aid Course for Children is a paid workshop at the World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice for children aged 10 to 15. In 15 lessons, they will learn how to call 155, stop bleeding, perform CPR, and work with an AED through fun missions and team challenges.

On Saturday, 30 May 2026, Dolní Vítkovice will transform into a space base. In front of the Great World of Technology, the SpaceBuzz simulator will offer a virtual flight into orbit, astronaut training, and military technology, while inside there will be lectures, a cinema, and a programme at U6.

On Saturday, 16 May 2026 at 14:00, parents with children could create their own mosaic plate in the Great World of Technology in the Alfred workshop. The workshop was suitable for children aged 5 and up as well as adults, with limited capacity and tickets purchased in advance.

06/05/2026J&T Bank Ostrava Beach Pro and SpaceBuzz in DOV
From 27th to 31st May 2026, Dolní Vítkovice will host the world tournament in beach volleyball J&T Bank Ostrava Beach Pro. On 30th May, the mobile rocket SpaceBuzz will arrive here with virtual reality, and the World of Technology with U6 will add a space-themed accompanying programme.

With every 10th ticket purchased for the exhibition "Zdař Bůh, kamarádi!" at the Gong Gallery, visitors received a piece of coal from the last wagon from April 17 to May 1, 2026, and with every 25th descent into the ČSM Mine in Stonava. The exhibition commemorates 250 years of mining in the OKD region.

The World of Technology celebrated Earth Day on April 26 with a program about insects for children and adults. Visitors looked at the world through the eyes of pollinators, examined insects under a magnifying glass, created insect watering stations, and took guided tours of the rooftop garden.

On Saturday, 25 April 2026 at 14:00, a creative tie-dyeing workshop for parents and children took place at the Great World of Technology. Each participant brought their own cotton clothing, created an original pattern using cold dyeing, and took their creation home.
