The Talent City 2026 conference took place on 14th and 15th October. On Thursday, 15th October, the stage dedicated to science centres and informal education opened for the first time in the Great World of Technology, prepared by the World of Technology in collaboration with the Czech Association of Science Centres.

11/09/2026The Living Library of Professions is Back!
On Monday, 21 September 2026, the Living Library of Professions will reopen at the World of Technology in Ostrava from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Students and parents will meet people from fields ranging from robotics to journalism and four schools, including VŠB-TUO and Vítkovická Secondary Technical School.

09/09/2026THE DOV INFORMATION CENTER AND START OF GUIDED TOURS HAVE BEEN TEMPORARILY MOVED
From 11 September to 25 October 2026, the DOV Information Center and the start of guided tours have been temporarily moved from Gong to the white cube, which is the control room of Blast Furnace No. 1 next to Bolt Tower. For inquiries, you can contact the information center via email or phone.

The Mining Day at Landek on Saturday 5th September 2026 celebrated mining tradition. At the Landek Park Mining Museum, children and adults enjoyed shortened tours of the mine titled “With Grandpa to the Mine”, a guided walk along the Landek educational trail, a miners' snack, and a photo booth.

28/07/2026Race the Streets in Dolní Vítkovice: Traffic Restrictions and Operations of DOV Attractions
During the Race the Streets event on 7th and 8th August 2026, there were traffic restrictions and a closure of Ruská Street in Dolní Vítkovice. Attractions remained open, with the High Furnace Tour replacing the High Furnace Circuit alongside Bolt Tower. This update describes arrival, parking, and public transport.

The World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice is opening registration for clubs for the school year 2026/2027. Children aged 3 to 15 can choose from the clubs Our Worlds, Academy for Talented and Gifted, or the new first aid course Health Worker.

In July and August 2026, the World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice hosted a nationwide programme called Train Like an Astronaut. Visitors had the opportunity to experience preparation for a space mission, coordination tests, mission simulations, and facts about astronaut physiology as part of the regular operation.

On Monday 13th July, only cash payments were accepted at the ticket office of the Mining Museum at Landek, and online sales were also unavailable due to a system outage. Tickets purchased before 12th July remained valid. The museum is open all week during the holidays.

25/06/2026Mining with a Stajgr - Summer Experience Programme
The summer experience programme Mining with a Stajgr at the Landek Park Mining Museum engages you in the construction of mining works and the actual extraction process. The programme is designed for a maximum of ten participants who are active and physically fit, aged 15 and over, and takes place on Wednesdays in July and August.

16/06/2026Beats for Love - Bolt Tower for Festival Visitors
During the Beats for Love festival, visitors can take the larger skip lift to Blast Furnace No. 1 and visit the observation deck or Bolt Tower café. Rides are from 16:00 to 22:00, and tickets are sold at the mobile box office under Bolt Tower.
